Giovanna Per Il Madagascar’s association

- Hotel -

At Corail Noir, our commitment is not limited to preserving the environment. We are also committed to improving the living conditions of local populations. That’s why we’d like to introduce you to our partner association, Giovanna Per Il Madagascar, which is so close to our hearts.

The story of the association:

After losing her daughter to diabetes, Isa and her husband decided to turn over a new leaf in Nosy Be. She embarked on an ambitious humanitarian project, raising funds to build clinics dedicated to screening for and treating diabetes, a disease that is poorly treated but on the rise in Madagascar.

On arriving in Nosy Be, Isa was quickly confronted with the social, economic and health challenges facing the island. Determined to make a difference, she became involved in a number of initiatives, including :

  • Building dispensaries and paying the salaries of medical staff, to provide care for diabetics, pregnant women and deliveries.
  • The creation of the Advanille school, in a particularly isolated and disadvantaged village.
  • The construction and daily support of the Hell-Ville Family Home, which takes in 32 orphaned or abandoned children until they reach adulthood.
  • Building a health centre (Stella Maria) and covering the living expenses and post-operative follow-up for around thirty children suffering from congenital malformations.
  • The distribution of books, toys, clothes and school equipment in the most remote and precarious villages of Nosy Be.

How you can contribute during your stay:

Many generous visitors choose to donate books, games and other materials during their stay. However, to ensure that these donations actually reach the children who need them, we recommend that you channel them through an association capable of distributing these resources fairly.

Giovanna Per Il Madagascar ensures that the goods collected are redistributed fairly and equitably.

What you can bring :

  • Medicines (painkillers, antipyretics, antibiotics for adults and children)
  • Children’s games (without batteries), cuddly toys, children’s and babies’ clothes
  • Children’s books and school supplies (notebooks, pens, felt-tip pens, etc.)
  • Eyeglasses

You are also invited to meet the beneficiaries of these actions, whether they be patients in dispensaries or children in schools and orphanages.

Don’t hesitate to contact us now or tell us about it when you arrive if you’d like to get involved or find out more about the association’s work.

We look forward to seeing you soon,

The Corail Noir Team
