Aquadiving – Corail Noir Dive Center

- Diving -

Logistics:

Each morning, departure is scheduled at 08:00 with all the equipment assembled and ready in the boat, heading to the first spot of the day: first dive followed by at least an hour on the surface and a second dive to be back at 13:00 and enjoy the whole afternoon to relax or make excursions on the shore. And why not a night dive, with a meeting at the dive center at 5:15 p.m. and return at 7:00 p.m.

Dive sites:

There are about 40 spots available for day trips, divided between those along the coast and those offshore, towards the Mozambique Channel. The tide level and the experience level of the participants, as well as the season, will make us choose the best spot of the day among them.

Coastal diving:

Nosy-Tanikely Marine Park:

3 spots around this volcanic island: in 20 meters maximum of depth, a condensed of tropical fish and nudibranchs of the area, as well as turtles (Imbricata), groupers and lobsters and, occasionally, sharks and spotted rays in the company of dolphins.

The Gorgonia Valley:

A real gift from Mother Nature, a few kilometers from the coast of Nosy-be, a forest of giant gorgonians in a gradation of colors, from ochre to bright red: at night, Spanish dancers, cypress, leopard and porcelain, lobsters and dolphins.

All at a maximum depth of 14 to 22 meters.

The wreck of the MITSIO

On a sandy bottom at – 26 meters, is an old fishing boat that sank in 2004 and now houses a multitude of fish of all sizes and colors.
Scatola, Scorpio, Pietra, scorpion fish, to the colorful Fuchiliers, Platax, with schools of barracudas and jacks.

Nosy-Sakatia caves

Coral formations on a sandy bottom at -26 m: one of them has a triple through entrance, creating a cavity sometimes visited by nurse sharks at rest. Albino black coral, labrids of all kinds, nudibranchs and macros in profusion. End of the dive on a plateau at -15 m rich in gorgonians, unicorn lobsters and passing sea eagles.

Offshore dives:

Grand Outer Banks

23 kilometers from the coast of Nosy-be, the last step before the depths of Mozambique, a wall stretches to infinity, from a depth of -15 meters to a depth of -55 meters.
At high tide, it is at its best with countless quantities of pelagic and resident fish parading along the wall. There is no shortage of sharks, white and gray fins, and exceptional encounters exceptional encounters such as hammerheads, eagle rays and mobulae.

Aqua Point

The most remote dive of the day with its 24 km distance from Nosy-be: always during high tide, it is not difficult to encounter the best the archipelago has to offer, both permanent and pelagic. An almost vertical wall down to – 44 meters, to be appreciated preferably at 27 meters. Not to be missed that of passage on the coast of the wall.

Outer Bank 13

A stunning vertical wall with a detached conformation, a destination for leopard sharks and gray sharks of passage. At the top, in addition to sedentary and pelagic hunting, watch for the rare “giant djibuti”, 40 cm Spanish dancers.

Manta Point:

A plateau of loose sand and coral formations at -21 m, a Mantis cleaning station, which on a rising tide crest up a ridge to a depth of -80 m, to show themselves to us divers in awe at their gaping whirlpools, at their unparalleled elegance of play.

The Camel:

Two underwater banks connected by a band of coral and gorgonians, on a sandy bottom at -26 m maximum. Exceptional quantity of resident fish, including surgeonfish, blue triggerfish, fusiliers, leopard ray moray eels, spotted rays and deep-sea groupers. Competition red anemones.

Rosario Bank:

Usually used as a second morning dive, certainly not for less interest but only for the ease of the maximum depth ( – 19 meters). A plateau of gorgonians and corals of all species corals of all species, a cave housing large turtles, leaf fish, macros of all types and models for the most demanding photographers. Without forgetting the barracudas of all sizes. Also base of starting point, in season, research on whale sharks.

The labyrinth:

Dive for the most experienced with a departure at -24 m and then dive into the wall already at -32 m, with a maximum depth of -45 m.
maximum depth of -45 m. Five coral formations stand out from the vertical wall set with large gorgonians, creating a kind of labyrinth. Leopard sharks and bottom groupers, as well as random passages of grey and white tip sharks complete the picture already rich in sharp fish.
End of the dive on a plateau going down to -12 meters, with a white sandy esplanade next to it, which is not without surprises.

Banc des Fusiliers :

Oval-shaped shoal with a top at -14 and a maximum depth at -26, characterized by banks of fusiliers,
unicorns, squirrels, sweetlips in great numbers. Some rare leaf fish, leopard morays, titanic triggerfish of generous size as well as, often, curious white tip sharks.
