In Corail Noir, we are dedicated to preserving the environment and improving the living conditions of the local population.
We’d like to introduce you to our partner association: Giovanna Pér Il Madagascar.
Here’s the story of the association:
When Isa lost her daughter to diabetes, she and her husband decided to start over in Nosy Be. She made a big commitment to help by raising money for new clinics where people can get screened for and treated for diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that is becoming more and more common in Madagascar, and it is not treated well.
Isa realized there were social, economic, and health issues on the island of Nosy Be. She took part in several missions, including:
⁃ the construction of dispensaries and the payment of salaries for medical staff enabling the care of diabetics and the reception of pregnant women and childbirth.
⁃ the construction and contribution to the day-to-day costs of the Hell-Ville ‘*Maison de Famille’ (*Family **Home), which takes in 32 orphaned or abandoned children until they come of age.
⁃ the construction of a health centre (Stella Maria) and contribution to the living expenses and post-operative follow-up for around thirty children who have suffered from childhood malformations.
⁃ the distribution of books, toys, clothing and school equipment to the most remote and/or precarious villages of Nosy Be.
If you want to contribute when you come for a visit:
Many generous tourists donate books, games, and other materials during their stay. However, to make sure these donations get to the kids who need them, it’s best to go through an association that distributes resources fairly.
The Giovanna Pér Il Madagascar association makes it possible to collect and fairly and equitably redistribute the goods brought in.
What can you bring?
We’d love for you to meet the beneficiaries (clinic patients, children, and students).
Please don’t hesitate to write to us now or let us know when you arrive if you’d like to take part or find out more about the work carried out by the association.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,
The Corail Noir Team
