On April 11th, 2025, a very special event took place at Corail Noir Hotel in Nosy Be. We had the honor of welcoming Mr. Jean-Éric Duluc, President of the International Federation of Tourism (FIT), and Mr. Paul-Emmanuel Bonnet des Arnoux, long-time representative of the Federation.
Their visit marked a significant moment: the presentation of the Silver Medal of International Tourism to Mr. Gianluca Censi, director of Corail Noir Hotel, in recognition of over 25 years of commitment to sustainable tourism and marine conservation in the Nosy Be archipelago.
Before becoming a hotel director, Gianluca was – and still is – a diver at heart. With over 10,000 dives in the Nosy Be area, he has dedicated his life to protecting marine biodiversity and sharing this passion with others.
Since taking the helm of Corail Noir Hotel in 2017, Gianluca has transformed it into a Diving Lodge with the support of his loyal team and new energy brought by the AMANTA group. Every day, he works to pass on values of eco-responsibility, discipline, education, and community interaction to both visitors and staff.
In addition to Gianluca’s medal, 14 department heads from Corail Noir and Aqua Madagascar were awarded certificates of merit by the FIT. Many of them have stood by Gianluca since the very foundations of the hotel were laid. Their loyalty, professionalism, and dedication reflect the spirit of this unique place.
We were also proud to be joined by our distinguished guests:
• Mr. Aly, Deputy Mayor of Nosy Be
• Mrs. Elisabetta, President of the Regional Tourism Office of Nosy Be (ORTNB)
• Mrs. Léa and Mrs. Tatiana, representing Madagascar’s Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts
This recognition goes far beyond a medal. It is a tribute to a team, to years of effort, and to a vision of tourism in harmony with nature and people. We thank all those who support and accompany us on this journey.
From all of us at Corail Noir Hotel and Aqua Madagascar:
Thank you for making this day so unforgettable.
